Think Differently
Setting Your Intention Differently
Sunday night can be more than the end of the weekend. It can become a quiet ritual for choosing your focus, setting your intention, and deciding how you want to show up for the week ahead.

It’s Sunday night, which reminds me of Songs of Praise, ironing my school uniform and going to bed early, things I used to hate and now somehow love. Songs of Praise is a long running BBC television programme of hymns and reflective stories that has been broadcast every Sunday since 1961, bringing calm and quiet hearted reflection into homes across the UK. I don't watch the programme, but I’m using this time to intentionally set my direction for the week ahead.
I think there is a little joy in the ritual of preparing for a week. It’s not really productive in the narrow sense, but it reshapes how I feel about the week to come. After all, the human mind does not run on logic any more than a horse runs on petrol. What matters most about how we choose to show up is perception, not rationality.
By now, week 3 of 2026, the year has already started to express itself: some things are progressing well, and others are resisting. That’s normal. If you’ve looked outside at the winter weather, maybe going out to the gym has already lost some of its appeal. Don't worry, you’re not alone. Cold, dark conditions make both physical and mental effort feel harder than usual.
So, maybe think about what truly deserves your focus this week, and that’s not always what shouts loudest, or what feels urgent by habit. Think about what genuinely moves your work, your goals, and your mindset forward. Consider how giving your attention to that priority will change how the week feels.
Once you have identified that priority, decide how you plan to show up for it. Let other tasks be genuinely secondary. For me, it's my diet and preparing my meals for the week. Today is day two of a three month metabolic transformation, and I've already battled the sugar monster a few times. So sorry not sorry to the missed calls, I'll keep you posted and tell you more as this proceeds.
Wishing you a week that feels intentionally focused and quietly effective.
